Mardi 22 avril, à l’instigation de Break Free et Solidarités Tattes, 3 résistants de Minneapolis sont venus raconter, en anglais, le combat qu’ils ont mené contre ICE et demander que la Suisse via la BNS ou l’UBS se désinvestisse de sociétés, comme Palantir, qui sont au service du gouvernement Trump pour mettre en place, grâce à l’IA, une société autoritaire violant les droits humains des citoyens américains.

On Tuesday, April 22, at the initiative of Break Free and Solidarités Tattes, three activists from Minneapolis came to speak in English about their fight against ICE and to call on Switzerland, through the SNB or UBS, to divest from companies such as Palantir, which are working with the Trump administration to use AI to establish an authoritarian society that violates the human rights of American citizens.

Janette Zahia Corcelius est organisatrice syndicale et communautaire à Minneapolis, dans le Minnesota. Elle réside à Saint Paul, dans le Minnesota. Elle est membre de la section locale 12 du Syndicat international des employés de bureau et des professionnels (Office and Professionals Employees International Union), qui compte 2 000 membres répartis dans plusieurs États, où elle occupe les fonctions de déléguée syndicale et de déléguée. Elle est également membre de la plus grande organisation socialiste des États-Unis – les Socialistes démocrates d’Amérique (Democratic Socialists of America) – une organisation socialiste multiconfessionnelle et ouverte à tous, comptant 100 000 membres. She is also a member of the largest socialist organization in the United States—the Democratic Socialists of America—a multi-faith, open-membership socialist organization with 100,000 members. She is also a member of the Tempest Collective, an organization of revolutionary socialist cadres, and the Remember 1934 Collective, which aims to commemorate the great Minneapolis truckers’ strike of 1934 and its significance for today’s labor movement.

Son nom reflète son héritage métissé, et sa musique est le reflet brut et sincère de sa vie. His name reflects his mixed heritage, and his music is a raw and sincere reflection of his life. A soundtrack that captures his personal struggles, his dreams for the future, his spirituality, and his deep connection to the land and his people. Musically, he explores a wide range of styles, including hip-hop, R&B, dancehall, reggaeton, and Afrobeat. Through his songs, he shares his experiences with love and addresses the complex realities of the world. Across Turtle Island, he teaches young people music production, songwriting, and recording through his youth music production program.
Sagirah Shahid est une poète et artiste de scène musulmane noire originaire de Minneapolis, Mni Sóta Makóče. Son premier recueil de poésie, Spirit: An African American Muslim Lyric, paraîtra aux éditions Lightscatter au printemps 2027. La poésie participative de Sagirah crée des espaces communautaires qui offrent guérison, affirmation et résistance face aux idéologies oppressives. Elle a reçu des prix et des bourses du Loft Literary Center, de la Twin Cities Media Alliance et du Minnesota Center for Book Arts. En 2020, Sagirah a été l’une des 23 artistes sélectionnées par Muslim Advocates et le Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design pour figurer dans l’exposition virtuelle American Muslim Futures. Sagirah est membre du collectif d’écriture Mizna et a dansé avec le projet de danse Body Watani. Outre son art, Sagirah est organisatrice au sein de Labor for Palestine, membre du Parti vert, et a participé sur le terrain au soulèvement de George Floyd, au mouvement de solidarité pro-palestinien et au mouvement de résistance contre l’ICE dans le Minnesota.

In 2020, Sagirah was one of 23 artists selected by Muslim Advocates and the Shangri-La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design to be featured in the virtual exhibition American Muslim Futures. Sagirah is a member of the Mizna writing collective and has danced with the Body Watani dance project. In addition to her art, Sagirah is an organizer with Labor for Palestine, a member of the Green Party, and has been an active participant in the George Floyd uprising, the pro-Palestinian solidarity movement, and the resistance movement against ICE in Minnesota.
